Cookie settings

Last updated: July 2026.

A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you browse GameCompil (https://gamecompil.com). This page explains which cookies are used, which ones need your consent, and how to give or withdraw it at any time.

Strictly necessary and preference cookies

These cookies are essential to how the site works and to your security. They keep you signed in to your account (magic-link authentication session) and protect the service against abuse. Without them, features such as signing in or syncing your high scores could not work.

When the site offers you another language version, the “gc-locale-choice” cookie records the language you settled on — the one you chose, or the language of the page if you declined the suggestion — so that you are not asked again. It is kept for one year, holds nothing but that language code, and is never used to redirect you automatically or to build a profile.

Under the regulations, these cookies do not require your prior consent: they are the very condition of the service you are asking for, or the plain recording of a choice you made yourself. They are not used for advertising, nor to profile you.

Advertising cookies (non-essential)

GameCompil serves adverts through Google AdSense to keep the games free. To that end Google AdSense, as a third party, may set cookies and use advertising identifiers to measure advert reach and, where applicable, display personalised advertising.

These cookies are not essential to the site: they are only set after your explicit consent. Until you consent, no advertising cookie is set and no personalised advert is served.

Non-personalised adverts may however appear before you have made your choice. They neither read nor write anything on your device and take no account of your history or profile: that is what keeps the site free while collecting nothing until you accept. No advert is ever displayed over the play area during a game.

Giving or withdrawing your consent

On your first visit, a consent banner lets you accept, decline or configure non-essential cookies. That choice is collected through a certified consent management platform (CMP), and you can change it at any time by reopening the consent manager from the site.

You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may however prevent you from signing in and break some features. To learn more about the data processed, see the privacy policy. For any question, write to hjaouad@gmail.com.
