About this game

Néon Flap is a one-tap arcade game in a retro-neon skin: one key, one gesture, constant tension. Your glowing orb flies between neon gates scrolling in from the right, and every press — a tap, the spacebar or the up arrow — gives it a flap that pushes it upward. Between two flaps gravity takes over, and the whole game lives in the rhythm of your presses: stay dead centre in each gap. Clip a gate, the floor or even the ceiling and the run stops instantly. You understand it in a second; mastering it takes dozens of tries — that is the magic of the genre. The more gates you clear, the faster the scroll and the tighter the gaps, in difficulty steps dosed to build a curve that rises without ever turning unfair. The hitbox is deliberately forgiving, a shade smaller than the orb, so every death feels earned rather than stolen. Your score is simply the number of gates cleared: clean, readable, made for "one more go". The neon look is built for instant readability — every gap is framed in bright light, the orb is the brightest thing on screen and it tilts like a real bird with its speed. Everything runs at 60 frames per second, with a discreet synthesised sound on every flap and every gate. How to play

Fly your glowing orb as far as you can, through as many neon gates as possible, without touching a thing.

Game rules

Your orb drifts to the right on its own while the neon gates scroll towards you from the left.
Every press gives the orb a flap that pushes it upward; without a press, gravity pulls it back down.
Line up with the gap in each gate and slip through at the right moment — not too high, not too low.
Every gate you clear adds a point to your score.
The further you get, the faster the scroll and the tighter the gaps, in steps.
The hitbox is deliberately forgiving: dare to shave the neon rather than panicking.

How a run ends

There is no happy ending: the run stops dead the instant you clip a gate, the floor or the ceiling. The only goal is to beat your own record for gates cleared.

Tips & strategy

Small, steady flaps

Chain short, regular presses instead of one big flap that fires you into the ceiling. This is millimetre flying: correct often rather than overcorrecting once.

Watch the next gate, not the orb

Keep your eyes on the gap that is coming, not on your orb. Reading the height of the next opening early is what saves you from the last-second scramble that ends runs.

Aim for the middle of the gap

Use the forgiving hitbox, but do not lean on it: aim for the centre of every opening. Once the gates tighten up step by step, that safety margin is the whole difference.

Did you know?

The one-tap side-scroller blew up in 2013 with Flappy Bird, made by Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen. Its brutal difficulty and single-button design turned it into a viral hit before its author pulled it from the stores himself in early 2014.
